Obituary of Terry L. Martin

Terry L. Martin, 47 of Iowa City died at his home, November 2, 2009. Private family graveside services will be held at the Masonic Cemetery in Tipton, Iowa. Terry Linn Martin was born July 14, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa the son of Lavelle F. “Shorty” Martin and Alice J. (Deerberg) Martin. His family moved to Iowa City where he attended schools, graduating from West High School in 1982. He has been a carpenter in this area for many years. Many will also remember his artistic talents, his passion for NASCAR, especially Jeff Gordon; he enjoyed planting and tending to his garden, and of course his love for animals! His family includes his mother, Alice; sister, Valerie Martin both of Iowa City; grandmother, Frances Deerberg of Clarence; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his beloved dog, Trixie. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Shorty; brother, Kerry Martin, infant sister, Mayanna Sue Martin, and grandparents.
