Obituary of Gloria Kimble
Gloria Kimble, 86 of rural Iowa City died Saturday, July 18, 2009, within the peace of her home with family and her dog at her side. A time for family and friends to gather and share Glorias life will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at the Babcock Cemetery, rural Johnson County. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in her memory to Iowa City Hospice whose care and compassion for Gloria will always be cherished. Gloria Keeling Roberts was born April 5, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa the daughter of Gladys Keeling Roberts and Theodore Roberts. Her family moved to Topeka, KS where she graduated from Topeka High School, and Washburn College. Gloria and her children moved to Iowa City in 1958 were she received her Masters degree and Education Specialist degree from the University of Iowa. A child psychologist with Grant Wood Area Education Agency, Gloria was supervisor of school psychologists and served as the director of the Homebound Program. She was a member of a number of professional and civic organizations throughout her career. Her family includes her children, Loyd Kimble (Irma) of Topeka, KS, Karolyn Stigler (George) of Waterloo, IA, and Kay Kimble (Eric Hoffman) of Iowa City; 16 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Kimble and Mike Kimble. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Glorias family and her arrangements.
Directions to Babcock (Greencastle) Cemetery: Exit I-380 at the North Liberty Exit and go West on F-28 (250th St.) for a couple of miles until Half Moon Avenue, turn North on Half Moon, the cemetery will be about one mile on the West side of the road.
