Obituary of Lucille E. Snyder

Lucille E. Snyder, 87 of West Branch formerly of Iowa City and Hartwick, IA died Monday, June 1, 2009, at the Crestview Nursing and Rehab. Center in West Branch. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Friday until the services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Lucille's memory to the charity of the donor's choice. Online condolences may be sent through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Lucille Evelyn Craig was born January 7, 1922, in Belle Plaine, Iowa the daughter of Frank and Editha (Roberts) Craig. She graduated with the Class of 1940 from Hartwick High School, Hartwick, Iowa. On September 14, 1945 she was united in marriage to Wendell P. Snyder in Atlantic. The couple lived in Atlantic, farmed in Hartwick, and moved to Iowa City in 1965.. Her family includes her husband of sixty-three years, Wendell; their daughter, Edith Snyder of Iowa City; nieces, Jane Craig of Hartwick, Patricia Nicholas of Rock City, IL, Marilyn Read of Indianola, and Diane Harden of Victor. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers and their wives, Vernon and Gladys Craig and Merle and Maxine Craig; and nephew, Keith Craig.
