Obituary of Kay Marie Cramer
Kay M. Cramer, 52 of Walford, died Friday, May 1, 2009, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the University of Iowa Foundation c/o the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Online condolences may be sent for Kay's family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com Kay Marie Bruene was born December 17, 1956, in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Adolph "Bud" and Minerva "Jean" (Black) Bruene. Following graduation from Gladbrook High School in 1975, she attended Iowa State University, later graduating from University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls. For many years she worked for Amana Regrigeration, later worked as Human Resource Director for North Liberty Plastics, and has been the Human Resource Manager for Alpla of Iowa for the past couple of years. She resided in Belle Plaine for many years until moving to Walford in 2003. On January 2, 1999, she married Russell L. Cramer. Kay was raised in a musical family, she enjoyed playing and teaching the piano to others, always had a special place in her heart for her dogs, but most of all was her family, she loved them so. Her family includes her husband, Russ; daughter, Emily Bockelmann of Walford; mother, Jean Bruene of Cedar Falls, sisters, Gayle Bruene of Cedar Falls; and Teri Osborn of Gladbrook; nephews, Daniel Osborn and Ryan Osborn; father-in-law, Craig Cramer of Omaha; sister-in-law, Carla (David) Crosswite of Rogers, AK; and brother-in-law, Steve Cramer (Jackie) of Omaha. Kay was preceded in death by her father, Bud Bruene, and her mother-in-law, Shirley Cramer. Kay's family would like to offer their most sincere thanks to Ron and Arlene Holden and Kurt Blythe and their families for their unselfish and gracious support in the battle of cancer through the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
