Obituary of Kurt Alan Davis

Kurt A. Davis, 48 of Iowa City died Monday, April 6, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Iowa City, with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Iowa City. (Sunday parking ordinance will be in effect for the streets near the church on Tuesday) A parish rosary will be recited at 3:00 p.m. Monday, with visitation from 4 to 7:00 p.m. at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service. Kurt Alan Davis was born October 12, 1960, in Iowa City the son of R. Dale and Jane E. (Kiefer) Davis. Kurt attended Iowa City Schools, graduating from City High School in 1979. While at City High he enjoyed participating in football and wrestling. Kurt enjoyed most sports, especially loved fishing and the outdoors. Kurt's father, Dale worked with the Amway Company for many years before his death, Kurt continued in his father's footsteps. His family includes his mother, Jane; a brother Kevin Davis of Iowa City, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, He was preceded in death by his father, Dale; and his grandparents.
