Obituary of Elisa P. Villareal

Elisa P. Villareal, 88 of 2801 Highway 6 East, Iowa City passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Iowa City Care and Rehab Center following an extended illness. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4 to 7pm Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, concluding with a time of sharing and reflections by Paul Graff. Family graveside services will take place at Oakland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Elisa’s memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @www.gayandciha.com. Elisa Paz Villareal was born October 13, 1919, in Del Rio, TX the daughter of Francisco and Manuela (Langoria) Paz. She married Frank S. Villareal on February 13, 1946, in Del Rio. The couple lived in Texas and California before moving to Iowa in 1959, where they first resided in Coralville, later moving to Iowa City. For many years Elisa worked as a seamstress out of her home. Her family includes her husband, Frank; sons, Jerry (Renee’) of Plainfield, IL; Ariel of Seattle, WA and Ben (Susan) of Davenport; 5 grandchildren, Victoria, Catherine, Olivia, Alicia and, Nicholas; 3 great-grandchildren, Ethan, Noah, and Max; and her brother, Mauro L. Paz of Del Rio, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Noel in 1991. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Elisa’s family and her services.
