Obituary of Thelma G. Chambers

Thelma G. Chambers, 90 formerly of 1241 East Burlington Street, Iowa City died Saturday, September 29, 2007, at the Iowa City Health Care and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City with the Reverend Mel Schlachter officiating. Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. There will be a period of visitation one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Iowa City Hospice, Visiting Nurses Assooication or Trinity Episcopal Church. For many years she worked in Food Service at the Quad Cafeteria at the University of Iowa. She was a lifelong member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Iowa City. Her family includes her sister, Catherine “Kay” Chambers of Iowa City; and a host of other family and friends. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Thelma’s family and her services.
