Obituary of Jane F. Rotter

Jane F. Rotter, age 94 of High Amana, Iowa died at her home Tuesday, August 21, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007, at the Oxford Chapel of Gay & Ciha Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Oxford Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her memory. Online condolences may be sent for her family through the web @ www.gayandciha.com. Jane F. Svoboda Rotter was born April 13, 1913, in rural Iowa County the daughter of Wesley and Sylvia Svoboda. She was united in marriage to Milo E. Rotter on January 6, 1944, in Cedar Rapids. The couple was longtime residents of Iowa County. Milo died December 28, 1985. Her family includes three sons, Russell Rotter and his wife, Phyllis of Amana; Melvin Rotter and friend, Penni Larson of Des Moines, and John Rotter of Cedar Rapids; 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Rose Ceynar of Coralville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. Jane’s family wishes to thank her grandson, Ryan Rotter, his wife, Shannon and their children, Parker and Christopher for their loving care they have given Grandma Jane for the past eight months.
