Obituary of Zelda Dean Martin Manor

Zelda Dean Martin Manor, 93, of 2423 Walden Road, Iowa City, and formerly of Williamsburg, died peacefully Thursday, May 10, 2007 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the funeral home. Zelda was born February 10, 1914, in Iowa County, Iowa, the daughter of Charles V. and Edith F. Brewer Martin. She received her education in the Iowa County Schools. She married Floyd S. (Comey) Manor on September 10, 1932 in Williamsburg. Survivors included daughters, Janet Sue Anderson (George) of Columbus, Indiana and Donna Rae Ostedgaard (Robert) of Iowa City; five grandchildren, Kent Ostedgaard (Candi) of Centenial, Colorado, Alan Ostedgaard (Robin) of Iowa City, Michael Anderson (Darcy) of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Timothy Anderson (Connie) of Westfield, Indiana, and Lynn Reinhold (Randy) of Iowa City; thirteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband in November, 1999; one granddaughter, Jill Ann Ostedgaard, two brothers, Charles O. Martin and Harold B. Martin and two sisters, Marjorie Poulson and Clara Faas. Zelda’s family wishes to express their appreciation to the residents and staff at Walden Place, the medical and nursing staff at Mercy Hospital, and the staff and volunteers with Iowa City Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
