Obituary of Roberta L. Wood

Roberta Louise Wood, 55, died Tuesday, May 1, 2007, in her sleep at the Abbey Center in Marion, Iowa. Family services were held on Saturday, May 5, 2007, through Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City. Roberta was born May 30, 1951, in Iowa City, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (Sparks) Wood. She was a 1969 graduate of University High School in Iowa City. Her family includes her parents, Robert and Dorothy Wood of North Liberty; brother, Wayne Wood and his wife, Judy, of North Liberty; sister Teresa Goering and her husband, Kurt, of Phoenix, Arizona; niece, Sharon Lucy; nephews, Adam and Alex Goering, and Brian (Twila) and Jason (Tina) Dusterhoft; great-nephews, Henry Lucy and Hayden Dusterhoft; and great-nieces, Brianna, Leah, and Ellie Dusterhoft. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Mabel Wood and Floyd and Bessie Sparks. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Roberta’s family and her services. Roberta enjoyed going home for visits with her family. Her sense of humor, love of shopping, and beautiful smile will be greatly missed by her family.
