Obituary of Mary Lou Eckley

Mary Lou Eckley 92 formerly of 2801 Highway 6 East, Iowa City died Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the Iowa City Nursing and Rehab Center following an extended illness. Members of the Eagles Lodge No. 695 will have a memorial service at 7pm Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where visitation will be from 4 to 7pm. Mary Lou Quinlan Eckley was born July 17, 1914, in Rock Island, IL the daughter of John and Ethel (Akery) Quinlan. She moved to Iowa City in 1940 where she was employed at the Iowa State Bank until 1954 when she started working in the Department of Radiology at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She retired from the in 1976. On November 29, 1975 she married Waldron “Tag” Eckley in Lone Tree. He died June 12, 1988. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 50 year member of the Eagles Auxiliary No. 695, Women of the Moose, and the V.F.W. Auxiliary No. 3949. She has no immediate family that survives.
