Obituary of Ronald Dean Hunter, Jr.

Ronald Dean Hunter Sr., 56 of North Liberty died Thursday, March 15, 2007, at his home following an apparent heart attack. Funeral services will be held at 7pm Monday, March 19, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to7pm Monday at the funeral home. Ronald was born March 3, 1951, in Iowa City the son of Alva and Doris (Augustine) Hunter. He has been a lifetime resident of the Iowa City area where he worked as a mechanic for many years. He was a member of the laborers union, enjoyed fishing and always his passion of working on cars. His family includes his children, Ronald D. Hunter Jr. of Juneau, WI, Stephanie Noble of Beaver Dam, WI, and Jessica Hunter-Schneider of Marion, IA; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Desirae, Courtney, Bryanna, Brittany, Selena, and Alexis; sisters, Sandy Tish of Iowa City, Darlene Youngman of Montana, Linda Vermace of Iowa City; brothers, Harold Hunter of Iowa City, Alva Hunter of Cedar Rapids, and Marvin Hunter of Iowa City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Kenneth and Bobby; sister, Joy Halstead, and nephew, Craig Halstead.
