Obituary of Gregory Earl Sexton

Greg Sexton, age 52 of rural Moscow, IA died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at his home from complications of cancer. Funeral services will be held at 6pm Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4 to 6pm Sunday at the funeral home and following the funeral services. Graveside services will be held at 1pm Monday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City. Greg was born August 20, 1954, in Iowa City, the son of Leroy and Alvera (Wilson) Sexton. He graduated from West Branch High School. He has been an over the road truck driver for over thirty-one years, working for a number of companies, and having owned and operated Greg Sexton Trucking until his death. Greg met Loretta F. Cain some six years ago, and on July 1, 2005, they were united in marriage. His family includes his wife, Loretta; father, Leroy and his wife, Sylvia Sexton of West Liberty; mother, Alvera Goody of Iowa City; children, Chad Sexton (Mindy) of Muscatine, Jennifer Spicer (Kevin) of Keokuk, Braxton Sexton, Kent Parsons, and Kyle Parson all of Moscow; two grandchildren, Jordan and Addison; sisters, Cindy Holmes (Richard) of Moscow, Rebecca Crowell (John) of Donnellson, IA, Kelley Albrecht (Jeff) of Burlington, WI, Taffy Holmes of Burlington, WI, Karen Cabrera (Manuel) of West Liberty, and Tami Sexton of West Virginia; brother, Kevin Sexton (Charlene) of Vinton, Ia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and a uncle. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Greg’s family and his services.
