Obituary of Marion E. Jones

Marion E. Jones, age 72 of 1010 Scott Blvd. Iowa City died Friday, February 9, 2007, at the Veterans Health Center in Knoxville, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2006, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation service in Iowa City. Burial with military honors will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Marion was born March 23, 1934, in rural Iowa County, Iowa the son of Clyde C. and Barbara L (Tuttle) Jones. During the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Army. Marion had been married to Beverly Stevens Jones; he later married Elsie M. Frantz. For a number of years Marion was employed in custodial services at the University of Iowa, and FBG of Cedar Rapids. He also had worked for Sharpless Auction in Iowa City for over ten years. His family includes his wife, Elsie; sons, Matthew Jones of Tiffin, and Randy Jones of Solon; three grandsons, Jeremy, Lewis, and Lucas; brothers, DeWayne Jones of Cedar Rapids, and Gene Jones of Wenatchee, WA; and a sister, Donna Welsh of Iowa City.
