Obituary of Deanna J. Cornwell
Deanna J. Cornwell, 69, of rural West Branch, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her family on the morning of Monday, May 7th, 2018.
Deanna was born January 7, 1949, in Iowa City, Iowa; daughter of Lloyd and Darlene Hoskinson. She graduated from Iowa City City High School and later attended the University of Iowa earning her Master’s in Criminal Justice and Social Work. On January 16, 1982 she married Thomas Cornwell at the First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. Deanna was an avid reader, one loved animals and simply time she spent outside.
Her family includes her husband, Thomas; daughter, Meagan Richardson and her children, Deanna, Aurora and Lee Richardson; sons-in-law, Brad Tripses and Chad Richardson; sisters, Debra Courtney (Rod) and Doreen Hoskinson-Olsen as well as numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shantele Cornwell; nephew, Chad Courtney and father-in-law, Donald Cornwell.
Following Deanna’s wishes, no public services will be held. Family services will be held at a later time.
