Obituary of Gladys B. Carson

Gladys Carson, age 95 of Coralville formerly of rural Ainsworth died Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at Grand Living at Bridgewater in Coralville.

Gladys Barbara Stagg was born August 7, 1927, in Downey, Iowa, the daughter of Emory and Esther (Hunzinger) Stagg.  She attended Iowa City schools graduating from City High School in 1945.  She married Harold Carson on June 12, 1945, in Iowa City. She and Harold farmed near Ainsworth for many years where they raised their five daughters. She was the epitome of the “farm wife”, she could do anything and everything, and she did! She loved working alongside Harold doing chores and making her famous pies! Her hobbies included playing cards, watching the Hawkeyes and Cubbies, assembling elaborate puzzles, and doing crossword puzzles.

Her family includes four daughters and their husbands, Connie Robertson (Dale J.), Lorrie Bell (Willie), Brenda Swihart (Paul), and Sandy Bouchey (Reed); (10) grandchildren, and (16) great-grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, granddaughter, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
